SPORTS PROJECT · CANDIDACY 2026

Sports
project.

One technical idea for the whole club.
A two-to-three-year project.

Built on five ideas and reviewed every year to keep improving it. We are not starting from scratch: we want to improve what the club already does.

Improving what
we already do.

This is the candidacy's sports project. It is a two-to-three-year project, built on five ideas, which we will review every year to add what we have learned.

In the youth teams, the priority is player development. We want the whole club to work with one technical idea, coaches to grow on the court and every age group to go as far as it can, all the way to a home-grown first team.

Competing well is the result
of developing well.

SPORTS PROJECT

FROM THE BASKETBALL SCHOOL
TO THE FIRST TEAM

From the first dribble
to the first team.

01

One technical idea

The same priority across all youth teams.

Coaching plan before September

  • In the youth teams the priority is development, the same for A and B teams, for boys and for girls.
  • A shared coaching plan, written before September: what is worked on at each age and how.
  • Changing team or coach should not mean starting over.
02

Coaches trained on the court

Support, not inspection.

Two or three concrete points to improve

  • Coach training happens on the court, not in a classroom.
  • The technical director and the coordinators attend practices and games and give each coach two or three concrete points to improve.
  • Support for coaches to earn their coaching qualifications.
03

Every age group at its best

At the highest level it can handle.

Two player evaluations a year

  • Not above its level, where players don't grow, nor below it, where they don't learn.
  • We review competition levels at the end of the first phase.
  • We evaluate players twice a year.
04

A home-grown senior team

Within two or three years, a first team made up of players developed at the club.

80%HOME-GROWN
PLAYERS
  • Home-grown means having spent enough time in the youth teams to know what the Tecla is.
  • The competition coordinator closely follows the step from junior and under-20 to senior.
  • It's not a percentage, it's identity: the youngest players should see the senior players as people like them.
05

The essence of a lifelong club

From age three to the first team, hand in hand with the school.

Youth teams at every home game

  • The club starts at I3 (age three), in the basketball school, hand in hand with FEP Tecla Sala school.
  • Youth teams used to go and watch the first team, and now they don't. We'll bring that back: every first-team home game will have one or two invited youth teams, who will walk onto the court with the players during the introductions.
  • A recruitment plan starting in January, to rebuild the age groups we are missing.
  • Organise scouting: watch games, keep a record of players who may interest us and follow their progress.

One director.
Two coordinators.

We split the work by age, not by gender, so that each stage follows a single approach.
